September 5th on this Wednesday. In India we celebrate this as Teachers Day. It is the birth anniversary of Dr. Radhakrishnan, India's second President and a literary scholar and life long educator. It is in his honor and to celebrate the educators in our lives that we celebrate September 5th every year as teacher's day.
Teachers have always held a revered position in the Indian social structure. They have been given the same status as one's own parents and not without merit. In India, Teachers's Day is celebrated on September 5, every year. Teachers's Day is a dedication to Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, who was a staunch believer of education and was one of the most well known diplomats, scholar, President of India and above all a great teacher. To hand out the purpose, Teachers's Day is celebrated throughout the world, year on year. By celebrating National Teachers's Day, we show appreciation to our teachers for providing us their invaluable guidance. Teachers mould the lives that they influence because the lessons learned from teachers stay with their students the whole time life.
Teacher's day Celebration
Teachers mold the lives that they influence. Lessons learned from teachers stay with their students throughout life. Teachers that break down barriers and reach into the souls of the students that they are responsible for do not get the recognition or gratitude they have earned. Several teachers are exhausted from their workload and responsibilities. They have their own families, financial and life stresses that challenge them along with everyone else. We should always respect our teachers. Teachers need support and encouragement from the community to think that their devotion to students is appreciated.
In India 5th September is celebrated as Teachers's day. 5th September is the birthday of a great teacher Dr. Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan. When Dr. Radhakrishnan became the president of India in 1962, some of his students and friends approached him and requested him to allow them to celebrate 5th September, his "birthday". In answer, Dr, Radhakrishnan said, "instead of celebrating my birthday separately, it would be my proud privilege if September 5 is observed as Teachers's day". The request showed Dr.Radhakrishnan's love for the teaching profession. From then onwards, the day has been observed as Teachers' Day in India.
