When is Sukkot in 2017?

Sukkot is a primarily Jewish holiday celebrated on the 15th day of the month of Tishrei (late September to late October). The Festival of Sukkot begins on Tishri 15, the fifth day after Yom Kippur. It is quite a drastic transition, from one of the most solemn holidays in our year to one of the most joyous. Sukkot is a week-long fall festival. The sukkah, the non-permanent outdoor hut, is meant to recall the time the Israelites spent wandering in the desert.

Sukkot in 2017 will start on Thursday, the 5th of October and will continue for 7 days until Wednesday, the 11th of October.
