Veterans Day Parade

One of the largest Veterans Day parades took place in the New York City. The parade has been an annual tradition for eternity since November 11, 1919, which makes this year's parade the 90th New York City Veterans Day Parade. The parade honours war veterans as well as all men &women currently serving in the army. The newly elected New York City mayor Michael Bloomberg & New York Governor David Paterson have attended the parade. The Navajo Code Talkers also took part in the parade.

The New York City Parade began at 11 AM ET in Madison Square Park, & will end at 56th Street and Fifth Avenue. The Connecticut Veterans Day Parade is attended by 25,000 to 40,000 spectators, includes 40 Veterans groups, 25 bands, &over 3,500 marchers from 96 units representing 49 towns. This is the largest Veterans Day Parade in New England, & one of the largest in the country. The parade includes a Moment of Silence, with a tolling of the Center Church bell & a stirring rendition of the national anthem.
