In the year about 270 AD, Claudius II was the emperor of Roman Empire. He has outlawed marriages in his monarchy. But against his will, Saint Valentine secretly started running marriage practices.

When Claudius got all news of his activities, He sentenced death to Valentine. On the honor of his name, in 496 AD, Pope Gelasius declared february 14th his birthday as valentine day. Later it is celebrated as a message of love.

According to ancient Roman sources, February 14th is day for worshipping Lord Juno, Queen of the Roman Gods and Goddesses, also called as a Goddess of women and marriage. Ahead of one week, on 7th February, rose day is celebrated. After it the countdown of valentine day begins with propose day followed by chocolate day, teddy day, promise day, hug day and kiss day.
