Ram Navami has celebrated every year with great devotion all over the country. It has considered promising to observe fast on this day in the name of Rama. Some of dedicated devotees of Rama even fasts for nine days, from Ugadi to Rama Navami. At initial, offerings are completed to the sun. On the day of Ram Navami, the devotees of lord Rama keep whole day fast.
Some of the devotees also prefer to have a fasting with satvik food while many go for without food and without water fast. Some people try to cook delicious recipes on this day. The Ram Navami recipes include some of the customs food that people normally eat after keeping the fast. Besides the customary fasting and prayers, a most amusing tradition that is practiced as a constituent of the Ram Navami celebrations in all over India. Rama has considered as the personification of perfection, fulfilling all his duties towards both family and subjects.

This is basically a folk ritual and still continues in villages and small towns.On the day of Ram Navami festival, people used to prepare some traditional dishes for the devotees who observe the fast on this day. On this day, the special dish has organized for this festival is called Panakam, a combination of new jaggery, cardamoms, black pepper powder and water. In some regions of India, panakam has prepared with jaggery, water and butter milk. On this event, in temples panakam has served as prasadam.
