Kerala Onam is a strange festival of Kerala and has celebrated by people of all religion and caste. There are many interesting stories about this festival and the most commonly believed along with the Onam related legends is that of King Mahabali. There are traditional oil lamps lit in the courtyard and women dressed in traditional Kerala sarees dance around the lamp, performing a dance called Thiruvathirakali.
