Day of the Dead

Day of the dead is a Mexican holiday celebrated each fall in many parts of North America and across the world. On the day of dead, children wear up in costumes and have candy shaped like coffins and skeleton.

Family's picnics in cemeteries, go to parades, set off fireworks, and made special bread and meals. They do all these things to honors and memorize people who have died and to celebrate how wonderful it is to be alive. The celebration comes on November 1st and 2nd in link with the Catholic holiday of All Saints' Day which comes on Nov 1st and All Souls' Day which occurs on Nov 2nd.

The Day of the Dead is dedicated to all souls's. This holiday is celebrated in Mexico and by Latin Americans living in the United States and Canada. The holiday focuses on gatherings of relatives and associates to pray for and remember friends and relatives who have died.
